Rough draft Ethography

Ethnography on an Individual

I have decided to do my Ethnography on a person from the subculture Heavy Metal he is also a guitar player. This is just some details but I am going to be adding more since ill be meeting up with him again before I do my final draft

Physical description:
Blue plain jeans
Black T shirts
No jewelry
Brown hair down to his ears
While most people who belong to this subculture have Long hair or are bald
Black white sneakers with gray N for Nike

  1. I think what you have down for your rough draft/ notes is really good. I like how you made a list of everything, in all different sections of topics. I think once you add more its going to have alot of details, and thats definately a good thing! Your notes really are good though, and hopefully once you meet up with your friend again, maybe you can add onto your draft and explain what your friend is like some more (:

    This is a good start at collecting up some details that you can certainly use (though some of them need more explanation, for me anyway, like Godin freeway classic and Mercury Red).

    When you flesh this out in paras. though, I'd like to see him in action, jamming at band practice, playing video games, etc. Se up some scenes to show us his life. Describe his setting, his friends, add some dialogue to show how they interact. After you consider all the details you've collected, what does it add up to? What's the main thing that interests or surprises you about this subculture?

    It's a very good choice of subject, I'd say!
